Hazle Thweatt, 78, of Port Neches, died Thursday, December 26, 2013, at the Medical Center of Southeast Texas in Port Arthur.  Born January 9, 1935, in Broken Bow, Oklahoma, she was the daughter of Louise Willis Terry and Willie Terry.  Hazle was the owner and director of Jack and Jill Day Care.

She is survived by her children, Marie Martin of Port Neches and Ellis Thweatt, Jr. and his wife, Alicia of Beaumont; grandchildren, David Lewis and his wife, Roseann and Tiffany Thweatt; great-grandchildren, Logan Legg, Ashley Miller, Mallory Lewis, Megan Havens, and Savanah Havens; great-great-grandchildren, Dysin Miller and Kylie Havens; sisters, Fay Cole and Wanda Terry and her husband, Paul; and brother, Roy Terry and his wife, Mattie.  Hazle was preceded in death by her parents; son, Eddie Dale Thweatt; brothers, Dean Terry, William Terry, and Troy Terry; and sisters, Ruby Louise Boyd and Stella Taylor.

A gathering of Mrs. Thweatt’s family and friends will be Friday evening, December 27, 2013 from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m., at Broussard’s, 505 North 12th Street, Nederland.  Her funeral service will be 2:00 p.m., Saturday, December 28, 2013, at Broussard’s followed by burial at Greenlawn Memorial Park in Groves.
