Alvin “Butch” DeVries, 73, of Beaumont, died Tuesday, December 24, 2013, at Baptist Hospitals of Southeast Texas-Beaumont. He was born on March 27, 1940, in Laurel, Mississippi, to Lula Mae Collum DeVries and Henry Lee DeVries, Sr.

Survivors include his wife, Jeanette Marie Savoy DeVries, of Beaumont; sister, Ruby Donahue of Vidor; niece, Susie Ikner of Lufkin; and nephew, Robert Donahue of Vidor.

A gathering of Mr. DeVries family and friends will be from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m., Friday, December 27, 2013, at Broussard’s, 2000 McFaddin Avenue, Beaumont. His funeral service will be 10:00 a.m., Saturday, December 28, 2013, at Broussard’s, with interment to follow at Forest Lawn Memorial Park, Beaumont.
