Doug Head 
July 22, 1946 - December 18, 2013

 

Doug Head, 67, of Beaumont, died Wednesday, December 18, 2013. A native and lifelong resident of Beaumont, he was born on July 22, 1946, to Maude Pickett Head and Windsor William Head. Doug was a very proud and loyal United States Marine Corps veteran, having served in Vietnam, and received a Purple Heart. Doug retired from Goodyear Chemical after twenty-eight years of employment.

 

He enjoyed hanging out in his shop, working on his old cars, watching birds, and visiting with people. Doug was the nicest guy anyone could have ever met. He had a big heart and loved helping people.

 

Doug is survived by his wife, Dianne Kilpatrick of Beaumont; children, Kristin Smith and her husband, Mack, of Houston; Erin Plasencia and her husband, Johnny, of Beaumont and Lafayette, Louisiana; Patrick Head and his fiancée, Yancey McFalls; stepdaughter, Alyssa Hansen Tough and her husband, Paul, of Austin; grandchildren, Brittney Faul, Cody Faul, Haley Faul, Mason Smith, Regan Smith, Lucas Head, Caleb Head, Mikayla Head, Chase Tough, and Parker Tough; sister, Rebecca McKneely and her husband, Floyd, of Fort Worth; brothers, Bill Head and his wife, Linda, of Silsbee; Franklin Head and his wife, Sheila, of Nacogdoches; and Harold Head of Houston.

 

A Celebration of the Life of Mr. Head will be 2:00 p.m., Saturday, December 21, 2013, at Unity of Southeast Texas, 1555 South 23rd Street, (between College and Washington Boulevard)  Beaumont, under the direction of Broussard’s, 1605 North Major Drive, Beaumont. His committal was held at Broussard’s Crematorium, Beaumont.
