Etta Prewitt 
March 5, 1943 - December 17, 2013

 

Etta Prewitt, 70, of Nederland, died Tuesday, December 17, 2013, at Christus Hospital, St. Mary, Port Arthur. She was born March 5, 1943, to Vernie Lenora and Chester Lee Prewitt in Burr Ferry, Louisiana. Etta was employed with the Nederland Independent School District for twenty-three years as a bus driver before her retirement. She enjoyed cross-stitching and also playing Wahoo. Etta will be remembered for her unconditional love for everyone.

 

She is survived by her husband of fifty-two years, Hugh Prewitt; daughters, Debbie Prewitt Vernon and her husband, Steve, of Crystal Beach and Sarah Prewitt Watts and her husband, Thomas, of Nederland; granddaughter, Marley Tinsley of Nederland; son, Murray Prewitt and his wife, Lisa, of Houston; grandchildren, Chad, Brian, Zach, C.J., Samantha, Anna and Clayton; nine great grandchildren; sister, Gayla Prewitt Thurman and her husband, James, of Bridge City; brother, Bobby Prewitt of Orange; son-in-law, Jackie Tinsley of Nederland; and a host of additional relatives and friends.

 

Etta is preceded in death by her parents; daughter, Sandy Prewitt Tinsley; and son, Arnold Prewitt.

 

A gathering of Mrs. Prewitt’s family and friends will be from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m., Friday, December 20, 2013, at Broussard’s, 505 North 12th Street, Nederland. Her funeral will be 11:00a.m., Saturday, December 21, 2013, at Broussard’s, with inurnment to follow at Oak Bluff Memorial Park, Port Neches.
