Pearly McEachern, 83, of Village Mills, died Wednesday, December 4, 2013. She was born on September 9, 1930, in Robstown, to Laura “Raider” Strait and Floyd Strait. Pearly owned and operated a Florist for twenty years and was a member of the Quilt Guild for over twenty years. She was a very loving wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. She had a multitude of “adopted” children. Pearly attended events for every child possible thru the years. Her passion for the Lord was evident in her everyday life. Pearly is survived by her husband of sixty-one years, Marvin McEachern, Sr. of Village Mills; son, “Big Lou” McEachern and his wife, Terea, of Cheek; brother, Bill Strait and his wife, Jean; daughter, Susie Martin and her husband, Loyd; grandchildren, Chris McEachern; Laura Malmberg and her husband, Aubrey; Will McEachern and his wife, Jessica; Jean Anne Moore and her husband, T.J.; Jennifer Hatcher; Justin Hatcher; David Martin; Beth Sanford; Kim Savourian and her husband, John; and Kalli Martin; and twelve great-grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her parents; and daughters, Sherri Hatcher and Vicki McEachern. A memorial service for Mrs. McEachern will be 2:00 p.m., Monday, December 9, 2013, at Church of Christ, 90 West Chance Road, Lumberton. Cremation arrangements were handled by Broussard’s, 1605 North Major Drive, Beaumont. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to a charity of one’s choice.
