Eva Joy Shelton, 88, of Beaumont, died Thursday, November 28, 2013, at Summer Place Nursing and Rehabilitation, Beaumont.  She was born on August 16, 1925, to Elma Hawkins Geldard and Alvin F. Geldard, and had been a longtime resident of Beaumont. Eva Joy was very active in Washington Boulevard Christian Church in Beaumont.

Survivors include sons, Alvin Shelton and his wife, Frances of Beaumont and David Shelton and his wife, Linda of Kountze; grandchildren, Catherine Shelton of Beaumont, Paige Shelton, and Matt Shelton, both of Kountze; and cousin, Vel Dickerson of Beaumont.

She is preceded in death by her husband, Thomas E. Shelton, Jr.

A gathering of Eva Joy’s family and friends will begin at 12:00 p.m., with her funeral service at 2:00 p.m., Sunday, December 1, 2013, at Broussard’s, 2000 McFaddin Avenue, Beaumont, with interment to follow at Forest Lawn Memorial Park, Beaumont.
