on August 10, 1955, in El Paso, to Carroll Armell Short and Joe R. Short, Sr.  Joe was a true cowboy who enjoyed his horses, tractor, fishing, and his country life. He was the owner of Beaumont Architectural Sales and Service since 1997.

Survivors include his wife, Debbie Short; children, Zachery Short and his wife, Amber, of Port O’Connor; Deedra Short of League City; and Corey Short and his wife, Jeannie, of Dayton; step-son, Jason Coffield and his wife, Christina, of Redlands, California; and grandchildren, Keegan, Torunn, Jacob, Lilly Lou, Gregory, Christopher, and Elizabeth. 

He is preceded in death by his parents; and grandson, Kevin Coffield.

A Celebration of Life service will be  2:00 p.m., Saturday, December 7, 2013, at Honey Island Assembly of God, 9097 FM 1293 Road, Kountze, under the direction of Broussard’s, 530 West Monroe, Kountze.  His committal was held at Broussard’s Crematorium, Beaumont.
