Myrna J. Davis Manuel, 76, of Beaumont, died Sunday, November 24, 2013. She was born on April 8, 1937, to Inez Davis Hebert and William Price Davis, in Colmesneil. Myrna retired from Lamar University in 1996 after a lengthy career with them. She loved spending time with and caring for all of her family.

Myrna is survived by her children, Janet Barnett and her husband, Robert, of Beaumont; Jerome Manuel of Beaumont; and Tammy Cullen and her husband, Richard, of Spring; brother, Troy Davis of Nederland; grandchildren, Dawn Havens and her husband, Jason, of League City;  Chelsea Cullen of Spring; and Jacob Cullen of San Marcos; and great-grandchildren, Jace and Addison Havens.

She was preceded in death by her husband, John Kirby Manuel; parents; brother, Danny Davis Sr.; and granddaughter, Misty Anderson.

A gathering of Mrs. Manuel’s family and friends will begin at 10:00 a.m., with her funeral service to follow at 11:00 a.m., Friday, November 29, 2013, at Broussard’s, 1605 North Major Drive, Beaumont. Her graveside service will follow at 2:00 p.m., at Colmesneil Cemetery, East Elder Street, Colmesneil.
