Garland Ridgley Davis, 93, of Evadale, died Thursday, November 21, 2013, at Silsbee Oaks Health Care, Silsbee. He was born on October 27, 1920, in Port Arthur, to Elizabeth P. Cain Davis and Ernest T. Davis.  Garland was a United States Army Air Force veteran and was a retired metallurgist with Texaco Research Port Arthur following forty years of service.

Survivors include his wife of seventy-two years, Genievieve Davis; daughters, Mary Stiebing and her husband, Carl of Silsbee; Jo Ann Whitmire of Evadale; and Bonnie Sue Denby and her husband, Billy of Jasper; brother; Ernest Davis and his wife, Carol of Houston; sister, Maureen Green of Groves; five grandchildren; eleven great-grandchildren; and six great-great-grandchildren.

He is preceded in death by his parents; son, Robert Davis; grandson, Robin Colvin; and sister, Doris Gateley.

A private family committal will be held Sunday, November 24, 2013, at Resthaven Cemetery, Silsbee, under the direction of Broussard’s, 490 Cemetery Road, Silsbee.
