Elsie Mae Hanley, 94, of Nederland died Sunday, November 10, 2013. She was born December 20, 1918 in Merryville, Louisiana, and had been a resident of the area since 1958.

Elsie is survived by her daughters, LaVerne Stratton of Houston and Carolyn Sterling of Nederland; grandchildren, Sabrina Ashworth, Kyle Stratton, Michelle Bobo, Melanie Hudman, Melissa Hoover, Kevin Darby, Robyn Breaux, Carla Vaughn and Clay Sterling; great grandchildren; Ariana Ashworth, Anastasia Ashworth, Andrew Stratton, Barclay Stratton, Alexandra Bobo, Darren Hudman, Jennifer Hogan, Brandon Taylor, Evan Darby, Kathy Breaux, Joey Breaux, Cayce Ames, Kalie Mazzola, Grayson Sterling and Ryleigh Sterling; and great great-grandchildren, Aedan Hudman and Brantley Ames.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Lula and William Hatch; husband, Arthur William Hanley; and daughter, Doris Darby.

A gathering of Mrs. Hanley’s family and friends will be from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m., Thursday, November 14, 2013, at Broussard’s, 505 North 12th Street, Nederland. An additional gathering will be held beginning at 1:00 p.m., with a funeral service to follow at 2:00 p.m., Friday, November 15, 2013, at Central Baptist Church, 33814 US Highway 96 South, Buna. Interment services will follow at Antioch Cemetery, Buna.
