Minnidore "Mickey" Parks

Minnidore "Mickey" Parks passed from her earthly life into eternal life on Saturday, October 26, 2013, after a short illness. Born to Ukrainian immigrants Peter and Anna Pacholko, in Jedburg, Sask, Canada, on July 12, 1922, she was the 9th of 10 children. She married Lawrence "Larry" Parks when he was stationed in Canada with the United States Air Force. Mickey became a United States citizen in the 1970’s and was very proud to be an American. They married in 1954 and were married fifty-four years when he passed away. She was a homemaker for most of her married life and raised four children. Mickey enjoyed working in her yard, gardening, and riding her bicycle. She was a devout Catholic. After her husband's death she became a resident at Atria Collier Park Assisted Living facility and recently moved into Pelican Bay Assisted Living where she enjoyed many activities.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:30 a.m., Wednesday, October 30, 2013, at Our Lady of Victory Catholic Church, 225 West Barkley, Sour Lake. Interment will follow at Rosedale Cemetery, Sour Lake under the direction of Broussard’s, 1605 North Major Drive, Beaumont. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that contributions be made to Birthright of Beaumont, Inc. 2626 Calder Street, Beaumont, Texas 77702.
