Edia Bourque Ivey, 93, of Port Arthur, died Tuesday, October 22, 2013, at Christus Hospital, St. Elizabeth, Beaumont. She was born December 20, 1919, to Marie Premeaux and Ophelias Bourque in Gueydan, Louisiana. Edia enjoyed cooking and working in her garden and loved her family. She is survived by her son, Warren Clark and his wife, Pat, of Jasper; daughter, Alice Clark McLeod of Beaumont; grandchildren, Stephen, Bryan and Michael Clark, Robert and Patrick McLeod, Barbara Taylor, Lewis Sneed and Kim Osgood; fourteen great-grandchildren; two great great-grandchildren; sisters, Zulma (Zeb) Courdroy of New Iberia, Louisiana, Lawerence Walker of Colorado Springs, Colorado, and Anna Mae Durke of Abbeville, Louisiana. Edia is preceded in death by her first husband and father of her children, Ceyrac Clark; second husband, John Ed Ivey; daughter, Grace Marie Goforth; parents, Ophelias and Marie Bourque; three brothers; and two sisters. A gathering of Mrs. Ivey’s family and friends will be from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m., Friday, October 25, 2013, at Broussard’s, 505 North 12th Street, Nederland. A Rosary will be recited at 12:00 p.m., prior to a funeral at 2:00 p.m., Saturday, October 26, 2013, at Broussard’s, Nederland. Interment will follow at Memory Gardens of Jefferson County, Nederland. The family would like to extend special thanks to Edia’s caregivers, Margaret Beagle and Paula Hebert; and the staff at Cypress Glen East.
