Dr. Michael Patrick Hyde, 42, of Conroe, formerly of Beaumont, went to be with the Lord on Sunday, October 20, 2013, after a brave fight against cancer experiencing God’s miracles along the way. He was born on May 6, 1971, to Carol Taylor and Frank Hyde, in Fort Polk, Louisiana. Michael was an optometrist in The Woodlands until cancer prevented him from working.

He loved the Lord and had accepted him as his Lord and Savior. Michael loved his family and friends with all his heart. He was even called a “people collector” making friends that were more like family whether through school, work, church, or in the neighborhood. The center of his world, next to God, was his son, Timmy.

Survivors include his son, Timothy Michael Hyde; Timmy’s mother, Katherine Hyde; mother, Carole Taylor; father, Dr. Frank Hyde and his wife, Wanda; stepsister, Kimberly Kennedy; stepbrother, Gary Grover; grandmother, Hattie Hyde; step grandmother, Dorothy Hutchinson; and numerous nieces and nephews.

He is preceded in death by his brother, Timothy Sean Hyde; stepfather, Albert Taylor; grandparents, Clydine and Donald Hutchinson and W.H. Hyde, Sr.

A gathering of Dr. Hyde’s family and friends will be from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m., Wednesday, October 23, 2013, at Broussard’s, 1605 North Major Drive, Beaumont. His funeral service will be 2:00 p.m. Thursday, October 24, 2013, at Broussard’s. A graveside service will be 2:00 p.m., Saturday, October 26, 2013, at Woodhaven Baptist Church Cemetery, 10318 Highway 1064, Tickfaw, Louisiana, under the direction of Broussard’s.
