Frances Traugott, 87, of Lewisville, died Monday, October 14, 2013, at Presbyterian Hospital, Plano. She was born on May 9, 1926, in Vernon, to Ruth Johnson King and Claude Benjamin King, and had been a longtime resident of Kountze.  Frances was a member of First United Methodist Church in Kountze since 1953.

Survivors include her daughters; Barbara Moody and her husband, William, of Kountze; Linda Hogshead of Frisco; and Wanda Dunlap and her husband, Tom, of Highland Village; son, John Traugott, Jr. and his wife, Kay, of Silsbee; six grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.

She is preceded in death by her husband of sixty-two years, John Traugott.

A gathering of Mrs. Traugott’s family and friends will begin at 1:00 p.m., with her funeral service to follow at 2:00 p.m., Friday, October 18, 2013, at Broussard’s, 530 West Monroe, Kountze.  Interment will follow at Old Hardin Cemetery, Kountze.
