Lorraine
A. Duplan, 92, of Port Arthur, passed away Saturday, October 12, 2013, at
Hampton Place in Stafford. A
gathering of Mrs. Duplan’s family and friends will be from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00
p.m., with a Rosary to be recited at 7:00 p.m., Friday, October 18, 2013, at
Broussard’s, 505 North 12th Street, Nederland. A Mass of Christian
Burial will be celebrated at 10:00 a.m., Saturday, October 19, 2013, at St.
Charles Borromeo Catholic Church, 211 Hardy Avenue, Nederland, with interment
to follow at Greenlawn Memorial Park, Groves. Monsignor Reverend Dan Malain
will be officiating. Lorraine
was a native and lifelong resident of Port Arthur. She was born October 3,
1921, to Inez M. and Erwin John Auffurth. Lorraine was a veteran of the United States
Army, having served as a 2nd Lieutenant Army nurse, and after worked
as a registered nurse. In 1947, she married Don C. Duplan and began her most
cherished work as a homemaker and mother. She
is survived by her daughters, Dianne Macha and her husband, Steve, of
Sugarland, Paulette Brown and her husband, Jim, of Ashville, North Carolina and
Lisa Mason and her husband, Al, of Sugarland; son, Don A. Duplan, M.D. and his
wife, Fran, of Port Neches; brother, Erwin “Bud” Auffurth of Port Arthur;
sister, Inez Freeman of Port Arthur; thirteen grandchildren; and five
great-grandchildren. Lorraine
is preceded in death by her parents; and husband, Dr. Don Carlos Duplan, Jr. Memorial
