Hazeldine Lane Madenwald 
November 11, 1922 - October 10, 2013

Hazeldine Lane Madenwald, 90, passed away Thursday, October 10, 2013, at Harbor Hospice, Beaumont, with her daughter and several close friends by her side. 

 

After graduating from high school at 16, she attended and graduated from Louisiana Normal Teaching College (Northwestern) with a teaching degree and from McNeese State University with a nursing degree.

 

She and her husband moved to Beaumont in 1948 and joined Calder Baptist Church in 1949. She was known for her faith and dedication to helping and giving to others. She loved teaching, being a Children’s director (20yrs), family camping adventures, Explorer Post 12 adventures and making mayhaw jelly.

 

Hazeldine was preceded in death by her husband of fifty-six years, Frederic A. Madenwald, Jr., in 1998; and her son, Frederic A. Madenwald III, in 2012.

 

She is survived by her daughter, Marceldine; son, Mark and his wife, Almeda; seven grandchildren, Diana, Chad, Laralee, Brayt, Luke, Alexa, and Kelsey; five great-grandchildren, Andrew, Elizabeth, Cameron, Sarah, and Emma; and a host of family and friends.

 

A memorial service for Mrs. Madenwald will be 10:30 a.m., Saturday, October 19, 2013, at Calder Baptist Church Fellowship Hall, 1005 North 11th Street, Beaumont under the direction of Broussard’s, 1605 North Major Drive, Beaumont. A family committal was held at Forest Lawn Memorial Park, Beaumont.
