Dorla Dean Galler, 78, of Winnie,
died Thursday, September 19, 2013, at her home surrounded by her loving family.
She was born on October 15, 1934, in Straight Bayou, Mississippi, to Flora
Johnson Powell and R. J. Powell. Dorla had a “green thumb” when it
came to gardening; be it with plants, vegetables, or flowers and she retired
from Winnie Community Hospital where she worked as a register nurse. Dorla was so very proud of her family and they
all will miss her so much. She is survived by her loving
husband of fifty-nine years, Clarence “Bud” Galler of Winnie; sons, Jay Galler
and his wife, Lori, of Benbrook; Rick Galler of Winnie; and Leslie Galler of
Keller; grandchildren, Allison Soileau, Kyle Galler, Lauren Chenoweth, Blake
Galler, Derek Galler, David Galler, Meagan Galler, and Daniel Galler; great-grandchildren, Kadie
Soileau, Mason Soileau, and Logan Galler; brother, George Powell of Bristol,
Tennessee; and numerous other family members and friends. A gathering of Mrs. Galler’s
family and friends will be from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m., Sunday, September
22, 2013, at Broussard’s, 134 West Buccaneer Drive, Winnie. Her funeral service
will be 10:00 a.m., Monday, September 23, 2013, at First United Methodist
Church of Winnie-Stowell, 1708 State HWY 124, Winnie, with interment to follow at
Fairview Cemetery, Winnie. In lieu of flowers, memorial
donations may be made in Mrs. Galler’s name to First United Methodist Church of
Winnie-Stowell, P. O. Box 1570, Winnie, Texas, 77665 or to the charity of your
choice. |
