Kristal Krimmel, 96, of Beaumont, died Tuesday, September 10, 2013. A native and lifelong resident of Beaumont, she was born on July 18, 1917, to Ollie Frances and Emil C. Krimmel. Kristal graduated from Beaumont High School in 1934, and she later attended Ventura Junior College in Ventura, California, and Sul Ross University in Alpine. She was employed for over forty years as a secretary for Certified Public Accounting Firms and retired in 1990 from Miller, Miller, Smith, Mason, and Robertson. As an active member of the Pilot Club of Beaumont, Inc., she received her fifty year pin in April of 1992 and served as President from 1963-1964. Kristal served the Texas District of Pilot International as District Governor from 1958-1959, after having served as District Treasurer and two terms as Lieutenant Governor. She was involved in many clubs and organizations such as serving as a past President and member of the Board of Directors in the Texas Easter Seal Society. Kristal was also a member and officer of Beaumont Business and Professional Women’s Club, Beaumont Evening Unit, National Association of Parliamentarians, and a lifelong member of First United Methodist Church. Survivors include her nephews, Michael G. Connor, Sr. of Beaumont; E.C. Krimmel III of Colorado Springs, Colorado; and Peter Michael Krimmel and his wife, Joanne, of Abilene; and niece, Frances Krimmel Pappas of Houston. She is preceded in death by her parents; and brother, E.C. Krimmel, Jr. A graveside service for Miss Krimmel will be 11:00 a.m., Friday September 27, 2013, at Forest Lawn Memorial Park, 4955 Pine Street, Beaumont, under the direction of Broussard’s, 1605 North Major Drive, Beaumont. Memorial contributions may be made to the Scholarship Fund of Pilot Club of Beaumont, Inc., 1010 21st Street, Beaumont, Texas 77706; First United Methodist Church, 701 Calder Avenue, Beaumont, Texas 77706; or to a charity of one’s choice.
