Troy E. Kornegay, 79, of Woodville, died Monday, September 2, 2013. He was born on November 25, 1933, in Romayor, to Edna Frances Stone Kornegay and William Houston Kornegay, and had been a longtime resident of the area. Troy retired from the United States Air Force after twenty years of service.

He is survived by his wife of fifty-eight years, Annie Louise Kornegay of Woodville; children, Joe Kornegay and his wife, Era, of Livingston; Dennis Kornegay and his partner. Sheree Fulfer, of Ivanhoe; Jean Boyd and her husband, Raymond, of Beaumont; Judy Carriker of Ivanhoe; and David Kornegay and his wife, Tammy, of Sour Lake; sister, Sandra Rhodes and her husband, Vic, of Zavalla; seven grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; sister-in-law, Jean Willis and her husband, Ronald, of Beaumont; and numerous nieces, nephews, and extended family.

A gathering of Mr. Kornegay’s family and friends will be from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m., Friday, September 6, 2013, at Broussard’s, 1605 North Major Drive, Beaumont. His funeral service will be 11:00 a.m., Saturday, September 7, 2013, at Broussard’s, with his graveside service to follow at 3:00 p.m., at Wells Cemetery, Cleveland.
