Opal Hale

Opal Hale, 89, of Winnie, was united with her Lord
and Savior on Sunday, September 1, 2013, at Winnie Community Hospital. She was born in Dayton, Texas, on May 1,
1924, and lived in Winnie for the past sixty years. Opal was employed with the Winnie Medical
Center for thirty years. She was an
active member of First Baptist Church in Winnie since 1954 and a Charter Member
of the Winnie-Stowell Eastern Star.
She enjoyed reading her bible daily, visiting with
friends who cared for and checked on her often, and most of all, spending time
with family.
Survivors include granddaughter, Kristin Cothren
and her husband, Dana; grandson, Kevin Cormier and his wife, Jamie;
great-grandchildren, Mandy and Kristi Cormier and Kase and Lexi Cothren.
Opal is preceded in death by her sister, Lela Mae
Riley; her beloved children, Terry Hale Edmonds, Sonny Wayne Hale, and Cleita
Kirkland; and grandson, Kyle Edmonds.
A gathering of Mrs. Hale’s family and friends will be from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m., Tuesday, September 3, 2013, at Broussard’s, 134 West Buccaneer Drive, Winnie. Her funeral service will be 10:00 a.m., Wednesday, September 4, 2013 at First Baptist Church, 120 East Pear, Winnie. A graveside service will be held at 1:00 p.m. at Brookside Memorial Park, 13747 Eastex Freeway, Houston.
