J. Derek Tremont, 24, of Beaumont, died Saturday, August 31, 2013, at Christus Hospital St. Elizabeth, Beaumont. He was born on October 5, 1988, to Rhonda Rochelle Phillips and James Larry Tremont, and had been a lifelong resident of the area. Derek was a graduate of West Brook High School and worked for Echo Construction.

Survivors include his parents, Larry Tremont and Rochelle Scott; and granny, Betty Tremont, all of Beaumont; grandfather, L.D. Phillips of DeRidder, Louisiana; brother, Lane Tremont of Fred; sister, Bethany Holley; and nephew, Grant Holley, both of Hutto; aunts, Gina Murray of College Station and Angela Theis of Midland; uncle, Charles Miller of Lake Charles, Louisiana; and numerous extended family members and friends.

A gathering of Derek’s family and friends will begin at 5:00 p.m. with a Time of Remembrance to follow at 7:00 p.m., Thursday, September, 5, 2013, at Broussard’s, 1605 North Major Drive, Beaumont. A family committal will be held at Broussard’s Crematorium, Beaumont.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to any Wells Fargo Bank in Beaumont referencing the name Derek Tremont.
