Lily Rose Simon Fisher, 78, of Kountze, died Saturday, August 31, 2013, at Baptist Hospitals of Southeast Texas, Beaumont. She was born on February 23, 1935, in Morse, Louisiana, to Rosa Coleman Simon and Eddie Simon, Sr., and has been a resident of Kountze since 1976. Mrs. Fisher was a long time member of Faith Tabernacle United Pentecostal Church in Kountze.

Lily is survived by her sons, Johnny Spell and his wife, Debra and Michael Fisher, all of Kountze; sisters, Lou Carlton, Ida Bourque, and Martha Hood; and  brother, Huey Simon, all of Louisiana; six grandchildren; twelve great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild.

She is preceded in death by her husband, Opal Fisher; and son, Rodney Spell, Jr.

A gathering of Mrs. Fisher’s family and friends will be from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m., Tuesday, September 3, 2013, at Broussard’s, 530 West Monroe, Kountze. Her funeral service will be 10:00 a.m., Wednesday, September 4, 2013, at Broussard’s, with interment to follow at Old Hardin Cemetery, Kountze.
