Harold W. LaFosse, 83, of Beaumont, died Thursday, August 29, 2013. A native of Beaumont, he was born on October 12, 1929, to Sydalis Bernard LaFosse and Sivigner LaFosse. Harold worked as an accountant for Gulf States Utilities for forty years.

Dad loved his family and was a very outgoing person who could talk for hours. He was a longtime official for the Southland Conference and sports were a big part of his life. Dad enjoyed watching his grandchildren participate in sports of all kinds.

His family would like to extend special thanks to Chris and Lanh Pullen, Brenda Batiste, and Sandra White.

Survivors include his sons, Edmund LaFosse of Atlanta, Georgia and Robert LaFosse of New York, New York; daughters, Theresa Zummo and her husband, John and Lana Metzger and her husband, John, all of Houston; grandchildren, Clark LaFosse and his wife, Kate; Tony Zummo and his wife, Victoria; Amy Gascoyne and her husband, Josh; Brett LaFosse and his wife, Lauren; John Metzger, Jr.; and Lauren Metzger; daughter-in-law, Lisa LaFosse; great-grandchildren, Joshua Gascoyne and Weston Gascoyne.

He is preceded in death by his wife, Ida Jessen LaFosse; and son, Harold W. LaFosse, Jr.

A gathering of Mr. LaFosse’s family and friends will begin at 4:00 p.m., with a Christian Vigil at 6:00 p.m., Monday, September 2, 2013, at Broussard’s, 2000 McFaddin Avenue, Beaumont. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:00 a.m., Tuesday, September 3, 2013, at St. Anne Catholic Church, 2715 Calder Avenue, Beaumont, with interment to follow at Forest Lawn Memorial Park, Beaumont.
