Though Gene and I had not seen each other for some time, the memories of our close friendship remain. We played many a down of football and many an inning of baseball together. More importantly he was my friend. He and his brother, Mike always earned my admiration. Gene, you are missed already. God speed to Mike and the family. My deepest sympathy.
