For those who don't know, I am Karlene's daughter-in-law, married to Scott. We will be married 25 years in September. I am so honored to have had Karlene as my mother-in-law. I think of her as "my other mother." I will truly miss her. I will always cherish our "chats" on the phone, which usually lasted about two hours. I knew I could call her at 7:30 or 8:00 in the morning to ask her a "quick question" or tell her about something I had heard, usually Wildwood gossip. And I always knew that she was busy trying to get things done but would always take time to chat with me. Karlene would encourage us all and help us in any way she could. She was our Nana. We have buried Karlene is the most wonderful way. She did not want a funeral. she did not want to make anyone worry about her especially her aunts that she loved so much. Sorry Aunt Jeanette and Aunt Effie. We had a short memorial with Barry and Lesa and I got up and said a fue things that we remembered. Thank you for your thoughts and prayers. Loretta

As I've tried to fall asleep these last couple of nights my mind is flooded with memories of laughter and good times with Karlene, my cousin that I always looked up to and wanted to be like. Sandy and I hope to be with you on Friday to bid Karlene Bon Voyage on the best journey of her eternal life. Lots of love and prayers for all. Cheryl Thursday, April 18, 2013 |

So sorry to hear of Karlene's passing. I worked with her at the Woodville DHS office; she was a caring and sweet person.

So sorry to hear of Karlene's passing. I worked with her in the Woodville office. She was a sweet and caring person. I remember that she fed stray cats and she also would stop on the highway to help turtles cross the road.
