David was a fine man and a wonderful Hardin County historian. Yes, he wore many other hats throughout his life. Mayor. Fire chief. Super Old Timers' Day promoter. Oh, yeah. And, he gave pretty good haircuts from time to time between long chats where local and world problems were discussed and quickly solved. It's difficult to imagine Sour Lake without David Payne. Prayers going out to family and friends. Tuesday, March 19, 2013 |
