Jerry and Judy, When I met your dad in 1988, we visited as though we had known each other forever. He enjoyed chatting and I enjoyed talking. We hit it off just right. Through the years we visited less and less for one reason or another, but when we would talk even by phone it was always as if we had seen each other the day before. I know that the happy memories will sustain you through these times. The Lord has a way of allowing us to recall the laughs and good times vividly but barely recalling the tears. To Ms. Margie, Carolyn, Ronnie, Randy, their respective families and my family, Jerry, Judy and kids. I am sorry I can't be there with you on this occasion but currently out of the country and my sympathys are sent whole heartedly to each of you. I didn't get to see Mr. and Mrs. Burris but maybe once every 3 or 4 years but always kept up with them through Judy and Jerry. I have always remembered Mr. Burris as a kind, straight forward gentleman and of course his passion for his gardening. Recently Judy, Jerry and I have had some laughs about this man still being a formidable force in his day to day life, ie, on that walker pointing to Jerry how to "correctly" change the oil in his car and up until recently hanging on to the walker with one hand and maneuvering the weed eater with the other while Jerry was cutting on the mower. A new tilled garden was started in heaven this week, and rest assured it will be some of the best vegetables in "town". God bless his soul. Rest in Peace Mr. Burris. All my love, Jimmy. To Randy & Sheila and to all of J. T.'s Family,
God love him! From reading his obituary, even though we did not know him, I see that he was a kind and gentle man and a man that loved THE LORD! He is now resting in peace with his maker and healthy and whole again. May God watch of each of you during this difficult time.
Our Deepest Symphathy,
Vicki & Dan Moser

When we first met J.T. we wondered if he might be a preacher. We learned the answer was yes and no. No, he was not called to a preaching ministry. Yes, the life he lived were some of the best sermons ever preached. We will greatly miss him. Wednesday, February 27, 2013 |
