Dear Mrs. Kelley and Roger, I have so many wonderful childhood memories of Kountze and my friends there. I remember being in that big gray house you first lived in when you moved to Kountze. It was there that I learned to drink unsweetened iced tea! The Kelleys didn't keep sugar on the table, and I didn't want to ask. To this day, I take my tea unsweetened. I remember my friendship with Kay most of all, of course. I know you have missed her for many years now. Thank you for caring about my parents as they reached the end of their lives. I remember your visits to my dad when he was in the hospital in Beaumont. Thank you for the good times you gave me in your home. The years in Kountze were probably the best in my life. I love you all. Thursday, February 14, 2013 |
