Wanda M. Davis

Donna Watts (Calico Rock, AR)

Wanda was a special person but I don't know that she ever realized how much she affected the lives around her. She had a joy for life and loved her family and friends . She enjoyed the simple things in life and enjoyed them to the fullest. I will remember her smile, her laugh, her sense of humor, her work ehtic, her perserverance, her determination, and her compassion for others. She made many new friends here in Arkansas who loved her and enjoyed her. She was a lover of God and faithful to Him. She taught me many lessons of life and she can never be replaced. She was one of a kind. I never met anyone like her because Wanda was true to herself and an individual personality. I will miss her more than she could ever know. I love you Wanda....

I remember the dresses she made for us & the birthday cakes. I remember picking blackberries with her & Wanda fussing at us, "Don't eat all the berreis, you'll get sick." I remember when she made cookies & let us help her in the kitchen. I remember going crabbing with her & her showing us how to scoop them up with the net. She helped us learn how to fish. She let us help her in the garden. I also remember her giggling with us when we did something we knew we shouldn't have. And boy, could she cook. She taught us a lot about cooking & her and grandma could sure put on a feast at the holidays.
Later, I remember her going with me to visit my sisters after they moved to Arkansas. She probably though I was doing her a favor to take her with me but it was more the other way around 'cause she was soneone to talk to & see the sites with on that long drive. Now, don't think she was all sweetness & light. She gave as good as she got & didn't let anyone run over her.
Oh yes, how about when she played dominoes with us at Donnas'. She had a mixed up some of the double twelves, fives for sevens, etc. (I did too!) She kept us laughing. She is the last of the older generation, my sisters & I are it now.
We'll miss her.
