Linda Thomas (Beaumont, TX)

Dearest Sarah and Diane: One of my favorite heroes has gone home to see our Lord Jesus. Mr. George was a wonderful friend, a loving gentleman, and a servant to the Lord's church. I had the special privilege of inviting Mr. George to be my guest speaker at the elementary school where I worked, celebrating Veteran's Day.
Mr. George always came all dressed in his uniform and wearing his sword. He was a sight to behold for my small pupils. George was even kind enough to leave his sword and sheath for me to take around for classroom visits for a "show and tell." But, my most memorable moments came when this gentle soul would tell of his war time experiences and shed a tear...at school, at church, during special occasions or just when patriotic music filled the air. He was not hardened by service, or war, or the many things that he witnessed....but remained a perfect gentleman who served his God and his Nation with great passion and undying love and respect. Mr. George has now seen Jesus...."the One who died for Him," and I bet he shed a tear of great joy as God said: "Welcome home, thy good and faithful servant!"

Dreariest Sarah,

It is with sadness that we have learned of George's passing but it is tempered with joy knowing that George has reached his eternal home. Psalm 139 tells us that our death date is chosen and truly George had completed his time on earth. We know you will miss your soul mate but you meet again and oh the rapture of that meeting.

Please know that we will be praying for you and the family as you mourn his passing. Memories are what sustain those left behind and we are confident that you have countless precious memories.

Love,
Gary and Penny Hunt
