Maribeth, I am so sorry about your brother. You and your family are in my prayers. I think of you often and hope that you are well and doing fine. My grandson Don appreciated your help and encouragement so much.

Dear Frankie @ Family,
My heart was broken when I heard of Randy's death. I remember the fun times I used to have, sitting at Dunkin Donuts and discussing all kinds of topics with Randy in the days of our youth when we thought we could change the world. I cannot imagine the grief that each of you must be experiencing, but I am praying that the peace that passes all understanding will be yours in Christ Jesus, Our Lord and Savior. Please comfort one another with the thought that his suffering and trials are over and Randy is at peace. May God himself wrap His mighty arms around each of you in love, comfort, and strength as you face the days ahead. Randy was a good man who will never be forgotten by those of us who loved him.

Philip & Susan (Hornbucle) Lydic (Nederland, TX)

The last day I saw my brother was the day after Thanksgiving, usually his favorite holiday, but not this one, even the smell of the cooking food was making him nauseated and I was stationary due to a recent knee replacement. He strode to our mother, hugged her and gave her a kiss on the cheek. Then as he moved towards me the first thing he asked was; "let me see YOUR scar"? Then he made a comment on how "pretty" it was compared to his many years older scar.
The he leaned over me, hugged me, and whispeed in my ear one phrase that everyone wshes to hear... "I love you", and then headed out the back door. I somehow knew that was going to be the last time that I was going to see him, unfortunately I was right.
On the morning of Nov. 30th and I saw my sister's name come over the phone ID, I knew the reason before I could even hear it in her voice. Our brother was gone, passing peacefully that morning around 9 O'clock. It was afterwards that all of the great "Randy" memories began to surface and have not stopped for much of the time except to a small giggle or two because of certain memories.
Nothing feels quite like this except maybe a kick in the heart.
