I'll never forget the last visit to Beaumont and going to eat crawfish with Uncle Butch and his brother (my day) Wallace. We were looking to eat BBQ crab but they were out, Butch said those crawfish were such "little bitty things". So sad to hear of his passing, wish we all could have lived closer together, our condolences to Shelly and Glenn. I know he's in a better place with Aunt Pat and Dad, PaPa & Maw maw Lila. Butch would always introduce me as "his tennis coach". I first met Butch at the Oak Park tennis courts in Lake Charles in 1979. I was teaching the summer lessons for the city and Butch was learning the to play. Then I had an on-campus interview with GSU and who was there but my friend Butch Franklin. Got the job and have been a friend for 33 years. Blessing and prayers to the family.

What an intensly sad moment for me to learn of the passing
of my friend and neighbor, Butch. We lived only four houses apart, so we spent a great deal of time together, playing ball, studying, riding the school bus, attending Calvary Baptist and
playing on their city championship softball team (He was a great 2nd baseman and hitter) on which George Barclay was the pitcher, Wendell Hobbs was catcher, Byron Ward was first basement, Paul Sternenberg was 3rd basement, etc.
We all loved his infectious laugh!!!!
