James Arthur Ward
March 21, 1934 - June 18, 2012
Dennis and Kathy Patterson (Farmerville, LA)

Sigh. It's really hard to put into words how special a dear friend is, especially one like James. Those nineteen days he spent here in Farmerville during Hurricane Rita are memories that we still cherish, still smile about, still feel the impact of a Godly man in our home. Then the frequent phone calls....usually asking us to join with him in prayer for some request.... The world has definitely lost one of its best.
And the many good laughs still echo, too--like his super-size Jif sandwiches, calling Dennis an "ol' Buzzard", and I always knew that if I ever had any trouble with Dennis, James was on my side and would straighten him out in a heartbeat! :D
Carolyn, Cherise, Michele, Jana, Melba, and Babe our prayers are with you all. You are so precious to us. May God be with you and keep you close. Love, Kathy & Dennis Patterson

So sorry about Mr. Ward's passing. He was always very kind and patient...especially when I was a little girl and came over for sleepovers with Jana! I know he will be missed.

Jon Barker (San Antonio, TX)

Our Condolences to Carolyn, Melba, Margaret and all the family. James, my 1st cousin was about the same age as my sister, Joyce. They were 10 years older than I am so I didn't spend a lot of time with him. I will always remember that on one visit to Aunt Mae's and Uncle Elmer's, he gave me my first BB gun. Now that was very special to me. I know that he was a very good person and will be missed.

Love,
Jon and Sylvia Barker
