Dr. Douglas N. Mattingly, Jr.
October 24, 1933 - June 1, 2012
Janet Jurik (Austin, TX)

Doug was our friend for many, many years and we considered him family. He loved people, animals, especially his greyhounds, and the great outdoors. Sharing meals with him while listening to his stories are now wonderful memories. His sense of humor as well as his professional dental work always resulted in smiles! He was an admirable man - a man who truly made a difference.

Tammy Smith-Hamilton (Beaumont, TX)

Dr Mattingly was my dentist until the day I graduated from Nursing School & got married. He actuallly attended my wedding. As a nurse & patient, I know doctors like him are rare. He would visit the Hoffbrau where I worked weekly for his afternoon coffee. All the staff enjoyed his stories and jokes. I just learned today(6/6/12) of his accident. June 26th, 2011 I was in a near fatal car accident. I have struggled with the reason God allowed me to live. I have adored Dr Mattingly from the moment I climbed into his dental chair as a young child. Knowing from my accident how this precious man left this world, TODAY a yr after my accident I have closure and peace. Dr Mattingly continues to make my smile.

Lisa J. Montiville (Katy, TX)

My sincerest condolences. Dr. Mattingly has the kindest soul. I feel blessed to have met him a couple of times and his presence will be missed by so many. He has touched so many lives and has made such a wonderful contribution with his work in and around the community. I would have loved to adopt a Greyhound or two.

Thank you for making a difference.

Sincerely,

Lisa J. Montiville
