I am saddened to hear of Helen's passing. I always wondered what happened to her and how she was. The last time I saw her was at Daddy's funeral in 1986. She was in my life 1950-1962 when I was in Sour Lake schools. She was a hard worker and good friend also to my family. Daddy couldn't have had a better office manager.

Aunt Helen will be missed by everyone. I couldn't have asked for a better aunt, she always had a smile and we constantly made bets on the Cowboys. (I always lost..LOL). But now she is with Daddy and Mom( Vena Ellen Wright Daniels Cunningham) and with MOM ( Sophia Cunningham) I could not ask for 4 nicer angels looking down from Heaven on me to watch over me and take care of me, and when I get in trouble for being naughty here them saying....Now Katherene Sue....I love you Aunt Helen and sorry I can't make it to your services tomorrow. I will be there in Spirit Friday, May 11, 2012 |

What a beautiful and caring lady inside and out. I met Miss Helen about 7 years ago when she would come in the cable company to pay her bill. Me and another lady that I worked with knew when we saw Miss Helen in the parking lot we needed to stop what we were doing and get ready to visit. She always had a story to tell and a big smile on her face. I changed jobs and hadn't seen miss Helen for a long time until this past Sept. My Mom was place at Jefferson House for rehab after having a stroke and falling and breaking her hip. I was having lunch with my Mom in the dining area and saw Miss Helen. I walked over to her and told her who I was and she remembered me. I introduced my Mom to her and told my Mom how sweet of a lady she was. In a lot of ways my Mom and Miss Helen were a lot alike and will both be missed. My Mom passed away about a month ago as well. She really was a sweet little lady. My prayers are with the family.
