In loving memory of my precious son, John Nicholas Brekel, Jr.
You will never, ever, be forgotten. Our family's love for you will go on forever. You were a bright, shining star in our lives, now you are an Angel of God looking down on us, protecting us, watching over us and guiding us in our daily lives as you did in your life here on earth. If only everyone could soak up the love, knowledge, compassion and over-all zest you exhibited every day of your life on this earth and show each and every person they come in contact with, the kindness, respect, and attention they deserve. You did all of that with every person you ever met or had any kind of contact with. I am proud to have been your mother. You were the rock of this family and the one we always looked to for advice and answers. You made me feel strong and healthy when I was diagnosed with Ovarian Cancer. You helped me go down that long road of recovery and wouldn't let me think I might not make it. You boosted all of our spirits and carried us through everything from the littlest problem to the biggest problem. You were always available to friends, family, even total strangers, who needed your expertise in any area. You were our Champion, our hero, and we all learned so much from how you lived your life. I now hope and pray that everyone you came in contact with during your lifetime can follow the example you left for all of us. Love you, your momma. Johnny was also preceded in death by his sister, Debbie Lee Brekel. Tuesday, May 8, 2012 |

John hired me at Helena Laboratories after I returned home from serving in the USAF. He was a great friend and mentor who will be missed. The world needs a lot more people like John Nicholas Brekel Jr..
