Dear Lisa and family,
We were so sorry to learn of Scott's death. We're glad that Jay got to see you about a week ago. You know that our youngest grandson is named for Scott - Patrick Scott McGovern. I'm sure you also know that Scott was in Elizabeth and Jay's wedding. He was Jay's best friend for all of those years growing up in Beaumont and beyond. We loved the times that we were with him at Toledo Bend. You could tell how much Scott loved you by the sparkle in his eye as he looked at you or talked about you. He was way to young to die and he will certainly be missed. May God's love comfort you and the family at this difficult time.

I am standing upon the seashore. A ship at my side spreads his white sails to the morning breeze and starts for the blue ocean. He is an object of beauty and strength. I stand and watch him until at length he hangs like a speck of white cloud just where the sea and sky come to mingle with each other. Then somone at my side says, "There, he is gone!" "Gone where?" Gone from my sight. That is all. He is just as large in mast and hull and spar as he was when he left my side and he is just as able to bear the load of living freight to his destined port. His diminished size is in me, not in him. And just at the moment when someone at my side says, "There, he is gone!" There are other eyes watching him coming, and other voices ready to take up the glad shout, "Here he comes!" And that is dying. - Henry Van Dyke
We'll miss you, Scotty Ray! Heaven is certainly more glorious with you there.
Much love, Carol Monday, April 30, 2012 |

What an honor it is to have had Scott as a son-in-law. Scott was an honorable man, kind, loving, and generous. We shared a special bond. I treasure the years we had Scott with us, and will treasure his memory. Most of all I appreciate the love he shared with my daughter, Lisa. They were a joy to watch as husband and wife. I appreciate them more than words can express. The Ford family is a special, loving, family and I am thankful they have been in our lives these many years. May the Lord sustain us all in our time of grief. May we find solace in knowing that we will be together again in heaven. I will always treasure and honor Scott and the memories. Love, "Mother-in-Law" ( Scott's endearing name he called me) Monday, April 30, 2012 |
