Dear Mrs. Bess and family; What a blessing it was to have grown-up knowing both you and Coach Bess. I was in the class of '61 at French High School. Your warm and loving spirits were such an influence to all the students. May the Lord give you strength and peace during this sad time.
Much love to you, Doris Friday, February 17, 2012 |

I remember Mr. Bess as the counselor at Crockett Junior High School in Beaumont when I attended in the late 1960's. We attended the First Baptist Church Beaumont also.
Mr. Bess was well-liked by the student body and had a pleasant manner. He supported Career Day activities and brought my father in to explain engineering to the students.
I have good memories of Mr. Bess and offer condolences to his family. Friday, February 10, 2012 |

I am deeply saddened to learn of the death of Coach Bess. He was my track coach at French High School 1963-1966 and I loved him dearly. He was a great coach and father-figure to me. He trained and inspired me to perform better than my natural ability would have allowed. He made an everlasting impression on me and was a bright spot on my growing up in Beaumont.
