Sammy was my cousin who I did not know until my parents moved to Navasota 1949. My mom was Elizabeth Wood, daughter of William Wood. We became classmates and friends.Sammy was one of the most trusted friends I ever had. Being a new kid in High school was lonely and he and his family made me feel less lonely. I was so sorry we did not get to see each other as we grew older. He will always be in my heart. Monday, August 6, 2012 |

Dear Mrs. Wood,
When I worked at the copy place on Calder at the freeway, one of the highlights of that job was seeing you and Mr. Wood come through the door. It always brightened my day. He was doing family searches and he did a beginner search for me which propelled me into my own search. He was such a kind and gentle spirit just as you are, dear lady.

Mr. Wood was my college advisor, helping me find my way toward a math degree. He was patient with me, and I will always remember his sense of humor. Thursday, December 29, 2011 |
