Mr. Porter was a role model, and like a second Dad to me growing up. John , we share so many great memories
"hanging out" with you're mom and dad in our teens. We played many a game of cards in your Mom's kitchen, and your Dad enjoyed having us being there. I share your sadness, and I am so thankful for having your Dad 's influence in my life. I love you Buddy!

My thoughts and prayers go out to the family. I know Mahlon will be truly missed. I am so thankful Mahlon came into my mothers life after the passing of their spouses. To the family of Mr. Porter... Pappaw was a WONDERFUL man..We have many fond memories of him from our childhood... We can't say a negative thing about him... He always had a smile and a nice thing to say... He had a spirit all of us wish we had... Crissy, Courtney, and Cody.. thanks for sharing your pappaw with THE KIDS NEXT DOOR...we thought highly of him.. and feel blessed to have known him...
