I have so many fond memories of Uncle Jim. As a kid, we would visit him and the family at the beach house. I can still remember him teaching me how to tie a fishing knot. I always enjoyed the visits with him when I would come home during my Air Force days. He was a great man who always had time to sit and talk about anything. He will be dearly missed by us all. My Pawpaw was a big man with an even bigger heart, who never met a stranger. He was always so willing to lend a helping hand, whether it be to help someone move, a ride to the store, or just to help load tired kids in to the truck after a long visit. I will miss hearing his stories of how things once were, I will miss hearing his singing (when I was little he would always sing me the Big Boppers "Chantilly Lace"), but he now has the VERY best seat in the house for watching his Astros. He will be GREATY missed by so many who loved him so much. Until we meet again Pawpaw, I love you....save me a seat. Sunday, October 16, 2011 |
