Candy & Mr. Hauver, You're in my thoughts & prayers. Mrs. Hauver was my daughter Suzannes favorite teacher. I remember she would turn the lights out and sit in the rocking chair by the lit up fish tank and read to them after lunch. They made kites and flew them in the Spring. They did many fun art projects. She made learning so fun. She was such a joy to be around. When I was in third grade at Amelia, I knew her as Candy Long's Mom! She was a great teacher and we will forever remember her. Wednesday, October 19, 2011 |

Mrs. Long was my third grade teacher at Amelia Elementary. I remember she used to have reading time where she would read to us, let us have show and tell, and she taught me to write in cursive....all back in 1978. She made quite an impression on me, and I haven't seen her since back then, and I have often wondered about my former teachers and where life took them, particularly her. When I posted her passing on Facebook, many others made fond comments and shared long ago memories of how she touched their lives as their teacher also......she will be missed.
