Bobbie Sue and Family, I so sorry to hear about Joe. A lot of fond memories of him over the year. I first met Joe in 1950 when we moved to High Island. He would come to the fire station to fill up his tank to haul water to Gilchrist, while the tank was filling he would come and drink coffee. He kept everyone on their toes and you didn't get out of line or you parents heard about that. He was a great friend and will be deeply missed. Monday, September 26, 2011 |

My deepest sympathy is extended to the family of Joe Faggard. I have many fond memories of him during those day in the past at the beach in Gilchrist. We had some really nice visits back then, and he was a very fine man. He will not be forgotten. Sunday, September 25, 2011 |

No matter where you go, if you say you're from High Island or the Bolivar Peninsula, someone always asks if we know Joe Faggard. He has always and forever more will be a legend. Our deepest sympathies go out to his family. The Stewarts Sunday, September 25, 2011 |

Joe Faggard was man of unbounded devotion to his beloved peninsula and to the Gulf Coast of Texas. It was a privilege to know him, to be able to share in his wisdom, and to receive his wise counsel and support. All of us privileged to stroll on a Texas beach should look out at the Gulf as we do so and whisper our thanks to Joe for his untiring efforts to maintain that gift for generations to come.
