When I first came to Texas to teach I stayed with Anita. What a delightful experience. We've been friends ever since. She even took me shoe shopping that first time! (Ever the optomist!) What a joy she was! Always sharing what was going on with her family, always asking about my family. She was one of the grandmothers of quiltmaking and I will miss her so much. She was such a blessing to all who knew her, a kind an generous heart. Wednesday, July 20, 2011 |

To Anita's family: I am so sorry for your loss. When I would visit with her she was so proud of her family and always had wonderful things to say about her children and grandchildren. I will miss Anita very much but I will delight in the memories I have of her and I- visiting in her warm and lovely home, quilt festival and going places together! By the way, she was a GREAT front seat driver, One of her quips," I thought you would have stopped 2 feet back"!!! What fun days those were!
