Lillian "Nuna" C. Dugue Copeland
April 28, 1920 - June 15, 2011
Grandchildren ()

We referred to her as Nanny, a woman of deep faith and lived her life through her principles of generosity and thoughtfulness. She never met a stranger and opened her heart to all who touched her life. She followed the footsteps of St. Francis of Assisi by her love and care of all animals. Her love for children and fellow man were equally as strong in her deeds and actions of unending kindness. Her outlook on life was to focus on the good in all and look on life with a more humorous side of situations life throws your way. For those that new her, some may have heard her say "if you know some good gossip, come sit by me" as quoted by Eleanor Roosevelt. Nanny was an outgoing person who loved to have fun and was very sociable. She was young at heart and found great joy with the younger generations. She loved to dance and on occasion would be found dancing to music in her kitchen. She walked her loving companion "Lucky Lu Lu" 9 blocks twice a day, fed the birds, squirrels, rabbits, and nutured her flowers daily. She loved being fashionable and looking her best when going somewhere special. We loved our Nanny unconditonally as she did us with all her heart. She was one of a kind and truly a wonderful wife, mother, grandmother, and great-great grandmother. The legacy she has left, the memories and inspiration will never be forgotten. She will always be cherished, loved, and honored. She will be missed by all. Nanny you were so full of life and love. My dear sweet Nanny may your renewed life be full of joy as you dance with the angels.

Rachel Turner (Sour Lake, TX)

Mrs. Copeland was very loved by my two children. She would walk Lucky and stop and talk to the kids not just mine but all the kids in the neighborhood. She would give my children bags of candy. My children thought highly of this wonderful giving lady. My thoughts and prayers are with the family. May God bless each and every one of you.
