MeeMaw was one the most special people I ever had the pleasure of meeting, and calling her family. She was the kindest and biggest hearted lady I have ever known. She was already an angel sent from up above, and now she has her angel wings up in heaven. I know that she is celebrating with all of her family members, and looking down and watching over us. We love and miss you, but we will see each other again, this I am sure of. Thursday, May 19, 2011 |

There are not many of our Teacher that any of us remember. They were just there we learned and moved on. But Mrs. Chambless was one of those 1 in a Million. I have been out of Nederland High for over 50 years. This dear lady made such an impact on me that I shall never forget her. The way she conducted herself, helped us in a way that you wanted to learn,if for nothing else, just to please her She made a big impresssion on all of us and we were so fortunate to have her. Thanks Mrs. Chambless for being there for us. Doug Thursday, May 19, 2011 |

Mrs. Chambless was one of my favorite teachers in high school. I hope to see her one day again because I never got to tell her. I remember her kindness, gentleness and caring nature. I only saw her a couple of times after I graduated and was sad to see of her passing. My prayers to the family for comfort and peace. Thursday, May 19, 2011 |

Lots of Love; Prayers and Blessings to Mrs. Johansen Chambless's Family. She was my English teacher my senior year at Silsbee High School, Silsbee, Texas, in 1952. She was Miss Johansen when she taught me. Very pretty and real sweet and was a very good teacher. I also went to school with James (very good basketball player). The Class of 1952 has a class reunion every year and I called her year before last and talked with her on the phone for a long time. We wanted her to come to our class reunion and I told her I would come and get her. She told me she had arthritis and just was not able to come..We wanted so very much for her to come because that year we had a wonderful turnout and she had taught everyone of the classmates that came that year. There was only one or two that did not get to come but everyone else was there ...Had a wonderful time and we know she would have enjoyed it if she could have come. I really enjoyed my visit on the phone with her and what pleased me so much was 'SHE REMEMBERED ME'. WHAT A GREAT AND MEANINGFUL THING FOR THIS REMEMBERANCE OF HER!!!!!!!!. GOD BLESS ALL OF YOU. SHE WAS A BEAUTIFUL AND SWEET PERSON.
