A Note for the family of Dr. James Robert Laughlin
To the family of Dr. Jim Laughlin ..
I am so sorry to hear of your loss through a letter from Dr. Sharon Turner, Dean of the UK College of Dentistry.
I hope my recollections will bring some new feelings of pride and happiness about what a difference Jim has made in the lives of others. I was a classmate of Jim's at UK. Near the end of our sophomore year it was time to elect class officers for our junior year. To my surprise Jim nominated me for the position of president and I was subsequently elected to that position. I have been forever grateful to Jim for making that nomination as holding that position gave me a great boost to my confidence. Until I read this notice I was never aware of Jim's own leadership as student body president at Tulane University. It appears that he has had many accomplishments along the way over his life. His loss is sad for his dental school classmates.
In sympathy, Joe Tomlinson

Dale & Family
So sorry and shocked to learn of "Jim Bob's" passing. He was admired and liked by all of his Breckinridge class mates and those of us who were in the class of 62 as well. I am so glad I was able to spend a few moments of conversation and laughter with him at the all school reunion we attended together.

Dear Dale, Robert and Family,
We were so sorry to hear about Jim, we all know he is in a better place, but it is still hard for everyone to grasp. I remember Robert and the whole 2nd Grade Class @ St. Anne's were very compassionate to Jarrod when his Dad passed away. It made me feel that he had support at school during such a difficult time. God bless your family, Remi Bogan Bryan, Rob Bryan and family Thursday, May 12, 2011 |

I want to send my Deepest Sympathy to Dr. Laughlin's family. He was a super oral surgeon. I had to have his services 3 times and he was excellant. I know he was a great husband and father. Tuesday, May 10, 2011 |

I'll never forget you and all the wonderful things we did, both good and not so good, all through our 12 years at Breck. We drifted apart after high school graduation and only got to see each other one more time at our class reunion of 1993, where I met your wonderful wife Dale. Seems like the amount of quality time we spent together all through school would have brought us together more often through the years. See you in the future buddy. Tuesday, May 10, 2011 |
