To all of Alyssa's and Tucker's family:
Words are just so inadequate right now. I worked with Alyssa at the hospital for several years and she was just what everyone says she was: kind, compassionate, fun, always smiling, and loved her family so much. She is already missed. My prayers go out to all of you for comfort and understanding. We grieve on earth but the heavens are rejoicing at Alyssa and Tucker's homecoming.

Alyssa, I was going through a box of yellowed photos from the mid 1980's of you, me, Tara, Shane and my brothers--we were all together at the Red Sea, your family and mine. It was a beautiful day as usual. You couldn't have been more than 4 years old tagging along in your swimsuit, your little black ringlet curls all over the place, and sand stuck to your chunky little brown legs. You had your hands on your hips and you were smirk-smiling at the camera. I think even then in some mysterious way you were letting everyone in on your secret. You knew more about life than all of us put together. You had it down. You lived it well. And God, so proud of you, took you and your son home. In my mind, you will always be that precious little girl standing on the beach in 1985. Rest now, Love. I'll see you both again one day. And the next time we meet we'll both laugh with joy as you fill us all in---the good that has come. And this time, I promise, Tara and I won't tell you to leave us alone...
