My deepest sympathy goes out to the family. Mr. Herndon used to come in the Pig Stand where I managed for years. He was a great customer and loved talking about his family. We missed him alot when he was not able to drive any more. I am so sorry for your loss. He had many friends there and they would sit and talk for hours over coffee. May he rest in peace. God Bless You~ Friday, August 20, 2010 |

Neill and Eva, When your parents got married, I was considered too young to attend the wedding, my father gave the bride away, and she sent me the wedding bouquet. I played bride for weeks, and cherished the gorgeous (very large) bouquet. After their honeymoon trip, they came back to our house and stayed for a week or so before going to TX. During that time, they made day trips to introduce Hubert to Sarah's NC relatives and were back at our house each night for supper. I was 6 or 7, and I got the biggest crush on my cousin's new husband. He showered me with attention, and teased me and played word games. Sarah called him "bunky" from the shaving cream ad. I always looked forward to their periodic visits to NC. I loved them both, and know you have great memories as well. Wish I could be with you at this time, but know you are in my heart and prayers. With much love, Janet Friday, August 20, 2010 |
