Teresa Hanson Burns
May 28, 1963 - August 1, 2010
Leatrice Russell (Carrollton, TX)

I met Teresa in 2001 when she not only became my boss at the Outlook Steakhouse, but she became a treasured friend as well. The last time I saw Teresa was the summer of 2005. I was ill and was pretty much home bound for quite awhile. She came bouncing in my house in Lake Charles, with Abby in tow. We spent the day laughing and talking about the wonderful times we had together as friends and co-workers, and we promised to keep in touch. We, of course, couldn't forecast that Hurricane Rita to turn our worlds upside down and blow us in different parts of the US.
Teresa would walk into a room and it would come alive with her beautiful aurora. Her boisterous laughter, and contagious smile was a sight to see and the most wonderful experience ever !!!
One of my most favorite memories was Teresa karakoing to "Little Red Corvette" at the Big Oak. She had no fear and lived life to the fullest !!! Oh yes, and I'm sure many of you remember when she introduced herself she had a firm handshake, she would smile and say, "I'm Teresa (no H) Hanson-Burns; nice to meet you". We all would giggle as we knew exactly what she was going to say when she was introduced to someone. There were times when we would change all of the channels off the horse racing in the dining room because Teresa's Home Furniture commercial was coming on....ha ha ha !!! Great memories of a wonderful woman !!!
Teresa didn't take "no" for an answer and she would go to toe to toe with anyone for her staff and her friends. Her loyalty to the people she loved was mighty !!!
I'm sorry I didn't keep in touch my dear friend, but know that I loved you, respected you, and was honored to call you my friend.
Brian and Abby,
My deepest sympathy and love. My father just passed away from cancer in May. I know your pain and loss. You will be in my prayers.

You will be missed and it was fun working with you at Delta Downs. God's blessings to your family as it is those who are left behind who feel the pain. Now they all have a beauitful angel wating over all of them.

Our lives will be a little bit darker without Teresa's sunshine. She was a wonderful person. Abby, you are such a lucky girl to have had the best Mommy in the world, even if it was for a short time. Teresa tried to live life to the fullest every single day. She was an inspiration to all of us. We can only hope to have some of the strength she exhibited. I miss you my friend.

I am stunned. This beautiful lady whom I worked with at Shadow Broadcasting, suddenly gone. She was gorgeous in many ways, her heart, soul, her looks, she was someone you looked forward to seeing at work. Her voice in the ether of night at 620 KAAM was like velvet that covered you and was pleasing to hold. Her one listener I would tease her about named Poppa Deedle would always call every night at the same time to hear a certain song for his late wife. Teresa would always play that tune, without a complaint. Gone too soon.but many good memories of her smile her grace and her compassion for others. She was an "angel with invisible wings" . Now they have become radiant in the glory of who she was and forever will be.
